How to Stop Steam from Running at Startup on Mac and Windows?

Through Steam
Settings
In case you intend to fix the issue through Steam settings, then
you can opt to follow the below-mentioned guidelines.
- Launch Steam on your system.
- After going via the regular updates check, the user will reach
Steam’s screen.
- Select the Steam menu at the upper left-hand side of the
screen.
- Hover the over to Settings from the list of the drop-down.
- After prompting the Settings screen, go to the left and reach
the Interface field.
- Go to the checkboxes list, find the option ‘Run Steam when my
computer starts,’ and untick it by selecting the respective box.
- Now, after finishing, select the OK button to exit the Settings
screen.
Through Task
Manager
If the users are trying to fix the issue through Task Manager,
then they should carefully apply the given steps.
- Hold all keys at once; Ctrl, Alt and Delete keys on your system
to launch Task Manager.
- You may also reach the taskbar and right-click on it then
select Task Manager.
- After launching Task Manager, move towards Startup section.
- Go to Steam Client Bootstrapper entry. Then right-click on it,
then turn off from the menu within drop-down list.
- Else, you can just mark up the option of Steam Client
Bootstrapper.
- After that, press the option of Disable at the given lower
left-hand side of the screen.
Using MacOS
- Go to Apple’s logo and click on it on the upper-left-hand side
of the system.
- Thereafter, select the option of System Preferences.
- After launching System Preferences, select the option of Users
and Groups.
- You should select the Lock option at the lower left-hand side
of the screen.
- Then input the passwords for making modifications.
- After completing, move towards Login Items section situated at
the upper side of the screen.
- You have to mark up Steam’s entry within the menu. Later at the
menu’s lower left-hand side, choose the (-minus) button to delete it from
the startup.
