How to Solve Invalid Drive Error 1327


The invalid Drive error 1327 appears when the Windows installer uses a drive that does not exist in the system at the time of installation of a program. It may appear whenever the installer uses incorrect drive or partition as a default installation path. In order to solve this issue, users need to fix the installation location via multiple methods if the first one fails. Once you fix the issues with the invalid drive in the Windows application installer, the error message Invalid Drive 1327 would disappear automatically.

Solution 1: Map Your Unmapped Network
The invalid driver error mostly appears when your drive, which is showing error, is unmapped. That can also happen if you lack the permission to install any software on the network drive that is showing the error message. 
Many users who are facing the same message on their computer, found that the error was showing up because they were not running the Windows installer with admin privileges even when the drive was not mapped at the time.  
That means you can also resolve the invalid driver error message just by initiating the program installed with the admin privileges. Here’s how to do this:
1.     On your keyboard, press Start + R keys together to trigger the Run program on your computer.
2.     Then insert the cmd command into the dialogue box and then press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER altogether. 
3.     Now press on Yes to continue the process.  
4.     Into the Command Prompt, put in the “net use DRIVE: PATH” command.
5.     To initiate the command, hit Enter.
6.     Now close the Command Prompt window.
7.     Restart the PC.
Solution 2: Readdress the Operation on C drive
In case you are trying to install Office older version on your PC, the Windows installer may be forcefully copying the files into a drive that does not even exist on your computer. Many users have faced the issues specifically with the Office 2010. For example, if the installer is trying to install the program into F drive, but the drive does not even exist, then the error message invalid drive would appear on the computer.
Users can effortlessly fix this issue by obeying the steps given down here:
1.     Head to the Start menu by pressing the Windows logo key on your keyboard.
2.     Then search run and then choose the Run icon from the result.
3.     Now put in “cmd” into the dialogue box.
4.     Press CTRL, SHIFT, ENTER altogether to trigger Command Prompt with admin privileges.
5.     Now once the Command Prompt appears, enter subst X: Y:\ following by Enter button on your keyboard.  
6.     When the process completes successfully, exit the Command Prompt windows.  
7.     Reboot the PC.
8.     See if the invalid drive error resolved or not.
Solution 3: Solving the Default installation Drive Using Registry Editor
1.     Make a combination of keys on the keyboard using the Windows logo + R keys.  
2.     This will open the Run dialogue box window.
3.     Now you have to put in regedit and tap on the Enter button on your keyboard.  
4.     When asked, choose the Yes option to continue into the operation.
5.     This will trigger the Windows Registry Editor program on your computer screen.
6.     Next, head to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder from the left navigation.
7.     Then click on SOFTWARE.
8.     After that head to Microsoft.  
9.     Finally, click on the Office folder to reach the destination key.  
10. Head to the subfolder into the Office installation folder.
11. Go to the Delivery folder.  
12. Now find LocalCacheDrive.
13. You will see the Edit String small popup window.
14. In the Value data dialogue box, put in C.  
15. Now head to the OK button to save it.
16. Reboot the system to experience the changes.
