Fix: NVIDIA Installer Cannot Continue on Windows 10

When users try to use the NVIDIA Graphic driver, sometimes they get an error message that NVIDIA Installer is unable to continue the work. This takes place, especially when Windows 10 is installed recently. In this error, the message that pops up on the screen is:

The Graphics Driver of NVIDIA is not accordant to the version of the present Windows. So, you should update the graphic driver with the help of GeForce Experience to match the compatibility. This issue occurs due to the fact that Graphic driver GeForce 398.36 DCH installs automatically from the Windows Update when the user first Log-On.
If you wish to remedy this issue, then you should try the following methods: Before getting the solution, you have to make sure that you have graphic driver NVIDIA DCH in your OS. To check whether you got it or not, you should check the value of DCHUVen in the Windows Registry. For that, you should follow this procedure:
  • Launch Run.
  • Run the command regedit, to open the Registry Editor.
  • Go to the following windows:
    Computer\ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\nvlddmkm
  • If you can see the DCHUVen, it represents that you have an NVIDIA DCH graphic card on your PC.
  • After confirming that you have the running graphic card NVIDIA DCH on your PC. If it is present, then you should uninstall it to start the process from scratch.
If you follow the standard procedure to uninstall the graphic card, then you are going to need the rebooting your PC to uninstall the driver completely. When the PC reboots and finds that there is no graphic card, then Windows reinstall it automatically.
So, you should try this method to uninstall the driver:
  • Press Window + X.
  • Choose Device Manager.
  • Double click on the adaptor of the NVIDIA graphic card
  • Click on Details Tab, then choose Inf name under the name of Property. Then not down the value.
  • Now, you have to launch the Command Prompt by the option of Run As Administrator.
  • Enter the command pnputil /delete-driver X /uninstall
  • Now, run it.
  • Here in place of X, you have to enter the name of inf you provided earlier.
  • This process will remove the existing temporary and permanent files forever.
  • Now, you have to Run the command, “sc delete nvlddmkm.” It will remove the rest of the file of drivers from your PC
Disconnect the PC from the Network During the installation of Operating System
This method is a simple and effective one to avoid the generation of the issue. Without the internet, OS installation will block the auto-installation of the graphic card. Now, you have to install it manually as it is best suitable for your PC.
It should be done before the internet connection. Once it is done, then OC doesn’t replace the existing driver.
Use the Application NVIDIA GeForce Experience
It is a complementary and straightforward app to use. It also offers users of the graphics card of GeForce GTX. This way, you will be able to get the DCH version without generating the potential error.
