How to Download & Install MacOS Catalina 10.15.1 to MacBook?


Apple has finally rolled out the biggest Mac update, which is MacOS Catalina. The new update is packed with an array of improvements. However, iTunes will no longer be present, and you will now get three different apps in place of it. The update also includes Apple Arcade, which is great if you are into gaming. Here is how you can download and install MacOS Catalina.


Create an Archive Backup of the MacBook with Time Machine
·         First of all, you have to hook up an external hard disk or Time Capsule with a USB, FireWire, or Thunderbolt cord.
·         Then you should go to the Apple icon in the top left-hand side of the screen.
·         Navigate to the drop-down menu & choose System Preferences.
·         Go to the System Preferences screen & choose Time Machine.
·         You have to switch the toggle of the Time Machine to the “On” position.
·         Thereafter you should click on “Select Backup Disk” & select the disk you want to use.

Downloading the MacOS Catalina Developer Beta
To download the MacOS Catalina developer beta, follow the steps mentioned below.
·         Get started by going to the “developer.apple.com” on the MacBook.
·         Then you should select the Discover option.
·         You have to go to the MacOS option.
·         Navigate to the Download.
·         When the prompt comes, sign in with the developer account.
·         You have to move down & select the Install Profile option for MacOS Catalina 10.15. The downloading process will start at the MacBook automatically.
·         Later, go to the Downloads screen & choose MacOS Catalina Developer Beta Access Utility.
·         Now, you should twice click on “MacOSDeveloperBetaAccessUtility.pkg” to run the installer.

Installing the MacOS Catalina Developer Beta
·         To get started, navigate to the Continue option.
·         After that, you should accept Apple’s Terms & Conditions.
·         Then you have to go to Install.
·         Now, go with the steps to install MacOS Catalina.

Installing the MacOS Catalina Beta on a Partition
To install the MacOS Catalina beta on a Partition, follow the steps mentioned below.
·         First, you have to make a partition on the MacBook.
·         Then you should go to the Continue option when the download process is completed & prepare to install.
·         You have to accept the terms & conditions.
·         Thereafter click on Agree once again to confirm.
·         Navigate to the main partition & choose “Show All Disks” to switch.
·         Later, choose the partition you would like to install the software on.
·         Now, you have to click on Install.
