How to Add a Watermark to a Word Document


Microsoft Word has a watermark feature which can be used to mark the Word document. It permits you to add watermarks in a few easy steps. You can select awatermark by going to the templates tab or can customize your own watermark. Here’s how to add a watermark to a Word document.

Steps for Adding Watermark in MS Word 365 and 2019
•    Go to the Microsoft Word.
•    Tap on the Design option.
•    Press on the Watermark option located at the right-hand side of the display. This option depends on the Microsoft Word version you are using right now.
•    You will also get some of the templates on the display so that you can select any one of them.
•    Press on any one Watermark.
•    Now, the Watermark start showing on the Microsoft Word window.
Steps for Adding Custom Watermark in Microsoft Word
•    Open the Microsoft Word.
•    Press on the Design button.
•    Tap on the Watermark button given at the right-hand column of the screen. It can be possible that you will not get this option at the right-hand side because it depends on your MS Word version.
•    Under the menu which having a watermark, you will get the Custom Watermark button.
•    Tap on the “Custom Watermark” option.
•    Choose the Text Watermark” option.
•    By going to the “Text” section, you can insert a text which you wish to show on the Microsoft Word document.
•    There is also the option for formatting the color, font, and size.
•    You can choose how you would like to show watermark, whether horizontally or vertically.
Steps for Adding a Picture Watermark in Microsoft Word
•    Open the “Custom Watermark” tab by going to the Microsoft Word.
•    Choose on the Design option.
•    Select on the Watermark option provided at the right-hand side of the window.
•    Tap on the “Picture Watermark” option.
•    Press on the Select Picture button.
•    Let the uploading procedure of picture gets completed.
•    By going to the “Scale” pull-down list, select the picture size.
•    In case you select the “Auto” option, then the picture will remain in its default size.
•    In case you wish to get a picture in a small size, then you have to set the scale up to 500%.
•    Ensure that the quality of the image becomes rough.
•    Click on the “Washout” button which turns the watermark into transparent color.
•    In case you wish to make the watermark visible, then you have to deselect it.
•    Press on the Apply button.
•    Tap on the OK button.
