How To Change Or Update Your Email Password
Emails contain a lot of crucial information. It is recommended
to keep updating the email passwords from time to time. An ideal password
consists of eight characters minimum and includes characters, symbols, numbers,
and letters. A password must be strong so that anyone can’t guess it. Avoid
using your personal information such as your name, date of birth, your pet’s
name, etc. to protect it from cybercriminals. To change your email account’s
password, follow these simple steps:
Changing Your
Gmail Password
- Go to Gmail login page. Enter your account details like Gmail
ID and password to access your account. Note that you can’t reset your
password through the mobile application.
- On your Gmail account page, go to “Settings” and open the tab.
- Now tap on the “Accounts and Import.”
- Hit on “Change password” link option.
- Here you have to type your active Gmail password, and then in
the next field, you have to enter the new one. The system will ask you to
provide the new password again for confirmation. Remember you have to
enter a strong password. You may include some characters, symbols, and
numbers also.
- Now tap on “Change Password” to change into a new one.
It is required to use your Gmail password for all the Google
services like Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Pictures, YouTube, and so on.
Changing your
Yahoo! mail password
- Launch the Yahoo! website page and log in to your Yahoo
account.
- Move the cursor to the Gear button. Then choose the “Account
Info” option.
- Tap on the “Accounts security” option on the left-side panel.
- Now tap on the “Change Password” link.
- Here you have to type your new password. Enter it two times to
confirm it.
- Tap on the “Continue” button to save your newly generated
password. It is just beneath the confirm password field. Remember that you
have to enter the same password while accessing all the Yahoo! services
and its related products.
- Now manage your client settings. In case you are using Outlook
or any of the email program, then you have to manage your Yahoo account
through Outlook. You have to update and modify the email passcode through
this same program.
Changing your
email password through Outlook.com or Hotmail
- Go to Outlook website and Sign In through the account of
Microsoft or Hotmail. Hotmail is the past name of Outlook.com
- Hit on mail account name located at the top-right corner of the
page. It may be your original name.
- Tap on the “Account Settings” option. A window will open and
ask you to retype your password.
- Go to the “Change Password” option under the “Security &
privacy” segment.
- Now a window will appear and provide you some options.
- Now hit on “Send Code” button. After modifying the password,
you have to enter the same password for all the services and products
related to Microsoft Account. It may include Skype, Xbox Live, Windows 8,
and so on.
- Now manage the client settings option. In case you have Outlook
or any other program to handle your Outlook account. You will be required
to modify your password under the account settings section of Outlook.
